Back to the Basics

My favorite “every day” breakfast is a bowl of homemade granola with fresh fruit.  I have been making/eating it for so long now that I am surprised that I’m not sick of it.  Nope – no way!  I don’t think I will ever tire of a good bowl of granola cereal.

This morning’s bowl just had an 1/8 c. of wheat berries, 1 tbsp. ground flax and a handful of pomegranate seeds thrown in.  I had to rush out the door to a meeting with my Girls on the Run (GOTR) co-coach, so I didn’t want to bother with cutting any fruit.  I love pomegranates seeds because once you get them out of the shell, they are quick and convenient to use.  They are also so versatile – add them to your cereal bowl, oatmeal, yogurt, salads … ah, the possibilities are endless!  😉

I add about 2 cups of Trader Joe’s Organic Morning Lite to the entire mix for an extra fiber boost plus raisins –

Good stuff!  I will publish the recipe later … but I will warn you that if you decide to make it YOU WILL BE ADDICTED!!!
